Preference data access¶
Viewing Preference Choice and History via the Admin Interface¶
In the Preference Manager's Admin interface, administrators can view the preference choices saved by specific users. This function provides valuable insights into user preferences, enabling efficient management and analysis of data. Here's how to access and use this feature.
Navigate to the Preference Data section in the Admin interface. In this section, administrators can explore the preferences associated with various users.
To to find the specific Preference Data object, provide the Configuration and User ID for which you wish to examine preference data. This will filter the results to display the relevant information pertaining to that user.

Preference Data: Search for submitted preference for UserID |
Upon submitting the search form, the system will present a list of preference data objects stored in the database. Each object corresponds to a widget that contains preference data for the specified user. If no data is found for the given Configuration and User ID, a corresponding message will be displayed.
Viewing Details and History¶
Clicking on View Details for a particular preference data object will bring up a pop-up window. This pop-up provides a comprehensive overview, showcasing both the current state of the user's preference choices and a complete history log of changes to this preference object.
The screen displays the user's current preference selection, ensuring administrators are well-informed about the user's current preferences. Additionally, the Changelog section presents a detailed history of all changes made to the user's preference data. This log is instrumental in tracking the evolution of the user's preferences over time.
Deletion and CSV Export of Individual Data Object and History¶
Administrators can delete entire preference objects by clicking the corresponding Delete button. If this action is taken, the system will remove all preference data associated with the selected user. However, the system will retain the history log for a defined period, usually 14 days. The last entry in the log will indicate the date and person responsible for the removal of the preference data object.
In addition to viewing preference choices and history, the Admin Interface offers a valuable export feature that enables administrators to extract individual preference data objects in CSV format. This functionality is beneficial for processing Data Subject Access Requests initiated by end users.
By understanding users' choices and changes in preferences, organizations can tailor their services and offerings to cater to their audience more effectively. This aspect of the Admin Interface streamlines data management and enhances the overall user experience within the Preference Manager.
Access CMP-origin consent data¶
If the Integration with Usercentrics CMP is set up, you can access the CMP consent data for a specific user if there's a connection between the UserID and CMP ControllerID already stored in the system. This feature aligns with the current functionality of our CMP Admin Interface. That will be displayed as another record having Title of such integration to be displayed in a Widget name column.
Preference Data Bulk Export¶
For comprehensive data analysis and local processing, the Preference Center offers a powerful bulk data export feature through CSV (Comma-Separated Values) export. This feature enables administrators to retrieve large amounts of preference data efficiently and perform in-depth analysis or further processing on their local systems.
Step 1: Accessing CSV Export
To initiate the bulk data export, navigate to the Widgets tab in the Preference Center's Admin interface to see the Widget Overview. You will find the CSV export function available as a drop-down menu option.
Step 2: Running CSV Export
By selecting the CSV export option, the system will initiate the generation of an export file containing the desired preference data. This file will be saved and processed locally on the administrator's system.
Step 3: CSV Export Contents
The exported CSV file will be organized in a structured manner, providing a clear and organized layout of the preference data. Each row in the CSV file corresponds to a User ID that has saved preferences under the selected widget. Additionally, the columns represent the different preference topics configured within that widget.
Please note, as part of our commitment to data security and privacy, User IDs are hashed using the SHA-256 algorithm before being stored in our database. This hashing process ensures that User IDs are securely stored and not easily identifiable, adding an extra layer of protection to user data.
