Glossary


  • Preference Center: The primary interface through which end users can save and update their preference data. It is accessible via a set of preconfigured widget(s) on the Usercentrics'-hosted web page.

  • Configuration: The top-level hierarchical entity that houses preference widgets and defines configuration settings for a specific Preference Center.

  • Widget: The core element responsible for capturing the end user's preference data. It encompasses the structure of Preference Topics and Options.

  • Preference Topic: Can be referred as a question, this represents the inquiry presented to the user, providing a logical grouping of data to be captured.

  • Preference Option: A list of answers that end users can select from to specify their preferences.

  • Public API: A set of interfaces that facilitate seamless integration with the Usercentrics Preference Management Platform's backend.

  • Private API key: A confidential key used to generate a token for a user, granting access to the Preference Management Platform's backend through the public API.

  • User ID: A unique identifier defined by the Customer to specify distinct Data Subject-owner of specific preference data captured in our database. This parameter is saved in a hashed format to make it as non-identifiable data for Usercentrics team.
