Authentication via Email¶
This feature will only work when email address is used as UserID
As an alternative to backend integration, Usercentrics offers the Authentication via Email feature, empowering end users to access the Preference Center application through a streamlined email-based authentication process. This guide explains how to activate and use this feature for a seamless and user-friendly access experience.
To enable the Authentication via Email feature, make the following configuration change under General Settings for the specific Configuration:
Once the feature is activated, the next step involves adding a direct link to the selected Preference Center on your website or email template. End users will use this link to access the Preference Center. The format for the direct link is as follows:

Where [PREFERENCE_CENTER_ID] - required Configuration ID and optional parameters: [LANGUAGE_CODE] is the code of the language email login form should be displayed in (ISO 639-1 format, e.g., "en", "de", "it", etc.) and [USER_EMAIL], email that can be pre-populated in login form.
When end users click this link, they will be directed to the Enter email screen where they need to provide their email address to obtain an access link.
After providing their email address, the end user will receive an email containing a unique access link. This link contains an access token specific to the designated Preference Center and remains valid for 8 hours.
