Prepare CMP for sGTM Setup

Configure Usercentrics CMP with common Data Processing Services (DPS).

This section shows how to configure Usercentrics CMP with common Data Processing Services (DPS), including Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads and Facebook Pixel.

Your setup might be different depending on the services you use on your website. If you already have an active CMP configuration, you may retain your selected DPS.

We suggest that you temporarily enable these specific DPS (as in documentation) to understand the process. Then you can disable them once complete.

Goal

  • Login and setup CMP
  • Select intended Data Processing Services (DPS)

1. Login to Usercentrics CMP Admin Interface

Login to your Usercentrics CMP.

Select a company. For new accounts, select your appropriate regulatory requirement Step 3 screenshot

2. Add First DPS, in preparation for sGTM setup

Select "Service Settings" on the Sidebar Step 4 screenshot

Select the "Data Processing Services" Tab (DPS) Step 5 screenshot

Click "Add DPS via Database" Button Step 7 screenshot

From the "Data Processing Service" input, choose "Google Tag Manager" Step 8 screenshot

From the "Category," input, choose "Functional" Step 9 screenshot

Click "Add DPS" Step 10 screenshot

"Google Tag Manager" should now be listed as Functional as "Draft" Step 11 screenshot

3. Add a Marketing DPS

Click "Add DPS via Database" again, to add a "Marketing" DPS. Step 12 screenshot

From the "Data Processing Service" input, choose "Google Analytics" Step 13 screenshot

From the "Category," input, choose "Marketing" Step 14 screenshot

Click "Add DPS" Step 15 screenshot

4. Repeat "add Marketing DPS" steps for additional "Marketing" DPS.

Continue to add:

  • Google Ads
  • Facebook Pixel

Go back up to Add Marketing DPS step.

Before moving forward, you should have added the following 5 total DPS.

  • Usercentrics, Essential
  • Google Tag Manager, Functional
  • Google Analytics, Marketing
  • Google Ads, Marketing
  • Facebook Pixel, Marketing

When you have completed setting up your all of your "draft" DPS, scroll down on the left-hand side, click "Publish" Step 17 screenshot

5. Complete the setup of Usercentrics CMP, by embedding the <script> tag.

Only necessary for new Usercentrics users.

Paste the code near the top of <head> section of your website Step 22 screenshot

Save and Deploy Save your code changes and re-deploy your website. Refresh your browser on your Websites.

6. As your website visitor, enable these 5 DPS.

Note: "Categories" should be visible for the visitor to accept or reject Step 24 screenshot

Each category can be expanded to select which DPS to accept or reject Step 25 screenshot

As a website Visitor enable each DPS we just added.

Note: This is in preparation for sGTM setup.

Make sure to toggle "on" each of the following:
 ·  Usercentrics Consent Managment Platform (default)
 ·  Google Tag Manager
 ·  Google Analytics
 ·  Google Ads
 ·  Facebook Pixel

Note, these options are available through the finger print icon in your website at any time. Step 26 screenshot If your personal perference, you can disable these after completing setup

You are now ready to start setting up your "Server Container" in GTM.
