These changes reflect recommendations from the United Kingdom's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (Data Protection Authority, AP). There is also a new template aligned with [Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)](https://usercentrics.com/knowledge-hub/canada-personal-information-protection-and-electronic-documents-act-pipeda/). Below is an overview of what's new and how these updates help to strengthen transparency for your users and support ongoing privacy compliance with international privacy regulations. ### At a glance - Two updated legal templates now support regional recommendations from the UK, and the Netherlands. - Newly added legal template for PIPEDA to align with Canadian regulatory requirements. - Businesses can apply these updates directly within their Usercentrics CMP configuration. - Each update is designed to reinforce user trust through clearer choices and more transparent data-handling information. --- ## United Kingdom: updates aligned with ICO recommendations To support the latest recommendations from the UK's ICO, we've enhanced the [UK GDPR](https://usercentrics.com/knowledge-hub/uk-gdpr-compliance/) legal template within the Usercentrics CMP. The updates provide clearer consent options and help to reinforce transparency for users across UK-based digital platforms. These changes reflect the ICO's continued emphasis on meaningful user choice. ### What's new with the UK recommendations - **Persistent "Reject/Deny All" option:** The UK GDPR template now includes a dedicated "Reject/Deny All" button that must always be visible. - **Improved clarity for users:** The structure and phrasing of consent choices have been refined to help users understand their options more easily. You can select the UK GDPR template directly in your **Admin Interface** under **Add Configuration**. --- ## The Netherlands: vendor count display recommended by the AP The Dutch AP recommends displaying the number of third parties to whom consent applies. To support this, Usercentrics CMP and Cookiebot CMP now include an optional vendor count display on the first consent layer. This update helps your users better understand who may process their data, reinforcing transparency from the very first consent interaction. ### What's new with the Dutch recommendations - **Vendor count display option:** You can now activate a setting that shows the number of third-party vendors directly in the initial consent layer. - **Enhanced clarity for users:** Providing this information upfront supports a more transparent consent experience. To enable this feature in your Usercentrics CMP banner, go to: **Configuration > Legal Specifications > Display third party count.** --- ## Canada: new PIPEDA-compliant template To support businesses operating in or serving users in Canada, we've introduced a new template for Usercentrics CMP aligned with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). PIPEDA focuses on responsible collection, use, and disclosure of personal information in commercial activities within the private sector. Our template helps organizations communicate these practices more clearly while supporting the principles of transparency and informed consent to build trust. ### What's new with the Canada template - **PIPEDA-aligned language:** The template reflects key privacy principles, helping you provide clear explanations of data practices. - **Stronger support for informed consent:** The template design helps your CMP setup strengthen user trust and demonstrate responsible handling of personal information.
