SEAMLESS CMP MIGRATION
Switch to Usercentrics CMP in 4 easy steps
Switching to Usercentrics is easier than ever. Follow these 4 steps to migrate to Usercentrics Web or App CMP today.
Remove any existing CMP scripts or SDKs
- Identify and remove the Testing CDN or Production CDN scripts for the other CMP from your website or app.
- Replace any configurations from another provider and that are for cookie management, consent, or data privacy compliance with Usercentrics ones.
- For websites, clear the cache to ensure the new consent banner is now displayed to visitors. Test to make sure no errors have been introduced and everything’s working correctly.
Configure your Usercentrics CMP
- Login to your Admin Interface and run the DPS Scanner to identify all of the services in use on your website, like cookies and other trackers, or app SDKs.
- After the scan completes, add the identified Data Processing Services in the Admin Interface.
- Style your banner to match your branding, with colors, logo, fonts, and other elements.
Add the Usercentrics script
- Access the Usercentrics script and instructions for websites (direct implementation, Google Tag Manager) or mobile apps.
- Remove any script modifications from your previous CMP.
- Change the type attribute of your scripts from type=“text/javascript” to type=“text/plain”. Include the Usercentrics data attribute, e.g. <script type=“text/plain” data-usercentrics=“Facebook Pixel”>
- Optionally, automate adjustments for supported technologies (e.g. iframes or tags) with Smart Data Protector or build blocking with our API.
- Activate Google Consent Mode v2 for your selected platform by following our documentation: for websites or for apps.
Finish up your implementation
- Compare your previous CMP setup with the new Usercentrics CMP one. Manually add any missing technologies via the Admin Interface.
- Use your in-depth analytics to gain insights about interactions and consent rates to help you optimize your consent banner.
- If you need assistance, reach out to our Support team.
- Find extra help for Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, or Google Consent Mode in our documentation.
