The company
NEW WORK SE operates XING, and onlyfy by XING from eight locations across the DACH region, with around 490 employees. XING is a recruitment network central to the German-speaking job market.
The XING platform depends on advertising partnerships that require consented audience data. As user behavior shifted toward mobile on XING, consent management became directly tied to revenue generation and campaign optimization.
The challenge
Deploying changes required coordination across multiple teams, often taking up to two to three weeks. This pace was incompatible with evolving standards such as TCF v2.2 and took a lot of development resources.
At the same time, the team lacked visibility into consent performance and had no ability to test or optimize consent interactions.
On mobile, the gap was more severe. iOS users had no consent mechanism, making them unreachable for advertising as no CMP or ATT was built in at all.
As mobile usage increased, this gap directly impacted revenue potential.
Goals
1) Accelerate consent operations
Reduce deployment cycles from weeks to near real-time updates across platforms.
2) Enable mobile consent coverage
Introduce a consent mechanism for app users, particularly on iOS, to make previously unreachable audiences accessible.
3) Improve consent visibility and data quality
Gain insight into consent behavior and introduce testing capabilities to optimize performance.
4) Support compliant advertising at scale
Adopt the latest TCF version to meet industry standards and sustain advertising revenue streams.
Why NEW WORK SE chose Usercentrics Web CMP and App CMP
Cross-device and cross-domain consent consistency was a core requirement. Users moving between web and app needed a unified consent record.
Usercentrics Web CMP and App CMP met this requirement while also supporting analytics, A/B testing, and TCF v2.2 compliance.
The platform also streamlined vendor onboarding through predefined legal text blocks, significantly reducing manual effort.
Implementation
NEW WORK SE implemented Usercentrics Web CMP and App CMP across its digital ecosystem, working with an implementation partner.
The web setup was completed over two to three months. Due to cross-device consent sharing and special styling requirements, the app consent implementation had more complexity. Thanks to Usercentrics’ support, these technical challenges were resolved with straightforward solutions, said Maier.
The final deployment included:
- 10+ web domains, including main and subdomains of different brands
- 2 mobile apps (Android and iOS)
