FRIO GROUP specializes in wine cellars and cooling solutions, supplying products to 75 countries through seven subsidiaries. With more than 120 domains spanning multiple continents, the company needed a consent management platform capable of handling both GDPR and US state-level privacy compliance from a single point of control.
FRIO GROUP deployed Usercentrics Web CMP on the Corporate plan, bringing all domains under unified consent rules with region-specific configurations for each regulatory framework. The initial deployment was live within four weeks, with consent banners configured in 16 languages across the group’s full digital footprint.
The company
FRIO GROUP is a global company specializing in wine cellars and cooling solutions. The company employs 120 people across seven subsidiaries, generates a turnover of €80 million, and supplies its products to 75 countries.
The group’s business depends on digital marketing, analytics, and e-commerce. FRIO GROUP operates more than 120 domains covering its main brand sites and subsidiary-specific local sites across Europe, the Americas, and other regions.
DP Medias, the group’s digital marketing agency and a Usercentrics partner, identified the need for a centralized consent management solution as part of FRIO GROUP’s broader digital strategy.
The challenge
Every one of FRIO GROUP’s more than 120 domains carries a data privacy obligation. In Europe and internationally, it has obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In the United States, it has obligations under a growing number of state-level privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar legislation across multiple states.
Before centralized consent management was in place, governing compliance across this footprint demanded manual effort from both the marketing and legal teams. Each new domain, subsidiary, or market entry added another regulatory configuration to manage individually.
For a group operating in 75 countries through seven subsidiaries, the exposure to GDPR enforcement represented a material financial and reputational risk. Without consistent, reliable consent signals across the group’s digital properties, the marketing team lacked confidence that its advertising and analytics tools were operating on lawful, consented data.
Why Usercentrics Web CMP
The ability to manage more than 120 domains from a single platform was the requirement that shaped FRIO GROUP’s evaluation from the start. The group assessed several consent management platforms against three criteria:
- Multi-jurisdictional compliance capability
- Banner customization flexibility
- Reliability of the underlying consent infrastructure
Alizé Rihet, Digital Marketing & D2C Manager at FRIO GROUP, described the decisive factor:
“One particularly decisive factor was the ability to manage over 120 domains from a single platform. As a group with multiple subsidiaries and brands operating internationally, we needed a solution that could scale with our complexity — not one that would require us to manage separate tools or configurations for each website.”
DP Medias recommended Usercentrics Web CMP based on these requirements. Hastone & Ten, FRIO GROUP’s web agency, validated the technical integration and handled the implementation across the group’s websites.
Implementation
FRIO GROUP onboarded onto the Usercentrics Web CMP Corporate plan in April 2026, and the initial deployment was live within four weeks.
The rollout covered more than 120 domains across the group’s brand and subsidiary sites. Consent banners were configured in 16 languages, including Czech, Danish, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Swedish, to serve each market in its local language.
The marketing team managed most of the configuration independently, aligning the banner design with FRIO GROUP’s brand guidelines with minimal development resources required.
Results
FRIO GROUP now governs data privacy compliance across more than 120 domains, seven subsidiaries, and 75 countries from a single Usercentrics Web CMP instance. Both the GDPR and US state-level privacy frameworks operate under unified consent rules, with region-specific configurations adapting to each market’s legal requirements.
The deployment replaced what had been a manual, per-site compliance process. Marketing and legal teams across the group now work from a centralized platform, and automatic regulatory updates reduce the ongoing maintenance burden.
Rihet described the commercial value of reliable consent data across the group’s digital footprint:
“With reliable first-party consent data, we can activate our advertising and analytics tools with confidence, knowing that our campaigns are built on lawful data. This translates into better targeting, more accurate reporting, and ultimately a stronger return on our digital marketing investment.”
For organizations operating across multiple brands, markets, and regulatory frameworks, FRIO GROUP’s deployment illustrates what centralized consent infrastructure can achieve at scale – a single platform governing more than 120 domains, 16 languages, and two distinct regulatory frameworks giving marketing and legal teams a shared foundation of compliance confidence while preserving the regional flexibility each market requires. That combination of consistency and flexibility makes consent management work as organizational infrastructure, governed once and applied across every market.
