Summary

WeLocal World AG is at the forefront of media distribution. They fully understand that the media industry’s present and future are digital, system-based platforms. These platforms enable more options and flexibility than publishers and consumers have had before, including where data privacy is concerned.

WeLocal World’s focus is the professional development of websites and apps in the German language market. Their Content Media Management System (CMMS) simplifies and standardizes media distribution. All media content — video, audio, images and documents — can be managed from one interface, with the media library being a core component. Customers can also incorporate online advertising on their websites, and the functionality and potential of the CMMS is ever-expanding, creating additional possible opportunities for WeLocal World and Usercentrics to work together.

We compared various CMP providers, made contact with them. With Usercentrics, we received very quick and comprehensive advice.
Christian Dutz, CEO, WeLocal World AG

WeLocal World started working with Usercentrics in 2021. They had a lot of questions about CMP implementation for their specific business needs. As their CEO, Christian Dutz, told us, “we received very quick and comprehensive advice on the subject of CMP”. It was also important to WeLocal World to be able to get up and running quickly with their Consent Management Platform (CMP) implementation. They currently use Usercentrics’ CMP on about 20 websites and are planning to incorporate it into their apps as well.

Challenge

WeLocal World’s customers are publishers, whose platforms have to meet GDPR compliance requirements. Some are also subject to additional regulatory supervision. They need flexible solutions that stay up to date and don’t get in the way of user experience. WeLocal World needed a cookie banner with strong, professional branding and clear messaging, particularly with regards to Data Processing Services (DPS) in use.

Goals

Easy implementation and comprehensive functionality

Get the CMP implemented as quickly and easily as possible. Ensure the CMP enables full customization and detection of all services in use on websites and apps.

Flexible and user-friendly configuration

Ensure the team — technical or not — can implement and customize the CMP, as well as enable ongoing privacy compliance as regulations and digital technologies evolve, saving the company time and resources.

Strong support

Solid and ongoing collaboration, with guaranteed high availability and responsiveness, and solutions that solve customer issues quickly.

Peace of mind with regulatory compliance

Meet GDPR and any other international regulatory requirements for consent and data security, reducing legal risk and ensuring the company provides great user experience while getting the data they need.

Making It Work Together

Usercentrics’ CMP enables serious brand presence for our customers with their online platforms, and user security in GDPR-compliant handling of personal data.

Well supported

From WeLocal World’s CEO, Christian Dutz, “Very fast and uncomplicated communication, quick and good availability for questions. We compared various CMP providers, made contact with them. With Usercentrics, we received very quick and comprehensive advice.

Performance and optimization

As Dutz noted, Usercentrics’ CMP enables “Serious brand presence for our customers with their online platforms, and user security in GDPR-compliant handling of personal data.” He also noted that the most exciting features for them are the automatically updated DPS and the interaction analytics.

Save time and work

WeLocal World estimated that their onboarding and setup only took about 30 minutes. They added a logo, customized the color scheme, and selected all relevant DPS. The database of templates for DPS made it easy to select and update them, and saved a lot of time. As Dutz noted, “All DPS could be created easily, and the visual customization of the CMP went without a hitch.

Protecting the business

In addition to enabling customers to achieve GDPR compliance now, WeLocal World is looking forward to the “adaptation and expansion of the CMP for new legal requirements in terms of data protection”.
