Usercentrics strengthens its management team: Jürgen Weichert, former Head of Strategic Partner Development DACH at Google and current VP of Business Development at a Munich-based tech company since April 2019, is a member of the Usercentrics Management Board since November 1, 2019 as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

The VC-backed Consent Management Platform (CMP) Usercentrics, provides companies such as Porsche and Commerzbank with software that supports them in obtaining, managing and documenting website-user consent and privacy preferences in accordance with GDPR.

In his new role as CRO, Weichert, who holds a degree in Business Administration and hones more than 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and business development, is responsible for sales, strategic partnerships and the development of new markets both nationally and internationally.

The former Google manager has his hands full, as Usercentrics has grown exponentially since it was founded in 2017. The company is currently experiencing immense growth, particularly in the Enterprise segment. In total, the number of websites with a Usercentrics-CMP increased by 2,200 percent in the last six months. And the market for Usercentrics is also expanding internationally: Through global partnerships, Usercentrics is now represented in the Benelux countries, France and Great Britain.

Consent Management Solutions – a Must-Have for Website Operators

The European and global market for Consent Management is currently experiencing an unprecedented surge due to the recent rulings of the European Court of Justice. On the 1st of October 2019, the ECJ confirmed in its judgement concerning the cookie banner, that consent for (advertising) cookies will become mandatory (C-673/17). In a previous ruling, the ECJ had already determined that website operators are jointly responsible for data processing using plug-ins, such as the Facebook plugin (C‑40/17). Therefore, user consent has become the new currency in online marketing, and the opt-in rate has become the new, valuable KPI.
