The countdown is on: On August 15,  the International Advertising Bureau (IAB) Europe will launch its updated TCF 2.0. This new version intends to create a standard for how companies, publishers, advertisers, agencies and AdTech providers can continue to make use of programmatic advertising without violating the GDPR. Now that even Google and other companies such as Criteo, Taboola, etc. have announced to join this initiative, it is only a matter of time until TCF 2.0 will become the prevailing market standard. In the future, it will therefore no longer be possible to display advertising via those providers unless the IAB Transparency & Consent String (TC String) is attached. However, this TC String can only be generated with an IAB-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP).
